#ForestFriday - Through The Woods
I have a few specific memories of my grandmother (Gramma) that always comes to my brain when I think of her. Today is her birthday, so I’ve been thinking about her all morning. For this #ForestFriday I’m thinking of the times we would walk the dog through the Besser Natural Area (Bell Bay) and look for the old homesteads in the woods. We’d meander down the trails and walk past the lagoon and eventually out to Lake Huron. This little nature area was only a few minute drive from our family cottage, so we would go often in the summer season.
Enjoy some photos as I travel down memory lane in honor of one of my biggest supporters and favorite people in one of our favorite places (and then a few of her just for fun). Rest in peace and thanks for everything, always.
#ForestFriday - Crater Lake NP
I now live in Oregon and I’m so excited to be two hours closer to the gem known as Crater Lake. Enjoy some photos from my visit last fall when I went down on a whim:

#ForestFriday - ARBOR DAY!
Today is Arbor Day here in the USA and I’m going to share some of my favorite trees from all over the place in honor of the forest and trees in general. ENJOY. Go plant a tree, or at least hug one.
#ForestFriday - the magnificent Bristlecone Pines
When I first saw them in person, I was in love. When I read about them, and their resilience, I was inspired. Enjoy some photos of the majestic and tough bristlecone pine trees from 2017 visits to Bryce Canyon National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument.
#ForestFriday - Ocqueoc Falls
Enjoy some scenes from December 2015. Enjoy the forest, or at least some photos of one… The Ocqueoc River and falls are minutes from my childhood home. I know this is probably more river than forest, but I think it satisfies the tree quota!
#ForestFriday - The North
Back in 2015 I visited my Dad’s property in Northern Michigan and took these photos. Enjoy a little escape to the snow covered woods behind my childhood home. I hope the winter ahead brings plenty of forest adventures!

#ForestFriday - Where the trees are skyscrapers and life is simpler
Today we go to the Northwestern part of this great land to a place called the Olympic Peninsula. These particular photos are from the trail to Pony Bridge from Graves Creek Campground. I recently did Hike 29 out there and, as usual, can’t stop thinking about going back. Enjoy the escape to the forest and have a great weekend if you can!
